Posted by Formuland on

Fulfilling the responsibilities of a mom while holding up a career is not an easy feat. You will surely find it hard to juggle your time between family and work and you will feel like a failure from time to time. Maybe you have exhausted all possible means to achieve balance between the two but to no avail. Well, lucky for you, you are already at this page. That’s because we have prepared some tips on how you can achieve work life balance. Here are some of them:

  • Have some quiet time.

If you wish to take good care of your family and excel at your job, it is important that you take good care of yourself too. The best way to do this is to schedule a quiet time every single day. After work, try to sit down for a few minutes and just simply do the things that you want to do for yourself. It can be about just simply lying down or have a luxurious bath. In this way, you will be ready to face the challenges that come with preparing dinner for the entire family.

  • Plan your work schedule.

It is important that you avoid work time overlap with family time. Avoid bringing home some work and do your work when you should be bonding with your family. The key to doing this is to plan your work time accordingly. Find a way to stick to it so you are rest assured that you will be out of the door by 5pm. In the event that you have no choice but to work late, it is a must that you cooperate with your spouse to make sure that one of you will take on the responsibility of cooking dinner and taking care of the kids.

  • Turn off TV during dinner time.

The only time that your family can be able to talk to one another and share stories about your day is during dinnertime. Sadly, many families tend to watch TV during this time. Turn off the TV and eat dinner altogether so you bond, share stories and connect with one another.

  • Have limits.

Establishing boundaries is important if you are trying to achieve balance between work and family. At work, learn to say no when you feel that it will already invade your precious family time. At home, do not schedule any events or do not make any promises when you know that your time will prevent you from fulfilling it.

  • Have a support network.

Do not hesitate to ask for help. Please keep in mind that you cannot do things on your own. There are times when you will need help so do not be shy to ask for it.

Being a mom is never easy but being a mom while maintaining a job is an entirely different challenge to conquer. But lucky for you, you do not have to suffer any longer. The tips mentioned above will help you to excel at work while taking good care of your kids and family.
