Preparation & Storage Tips
LittleOak formula is prepared the same way as other powdered infant formulas. Always follow the feeding table printed on your specific tin, as scoop counts and water volumes differ between stages.
Start with clean equipment
Sterilize all bottles, teats, and rings before each feed. Washing alone is not sufficient for newborn equipment; use a dedicated sterilizer or boiling method.
Use water at the right temperature
Boil fresh drinking water, then let it cool to around 104 degrees Fahrenheit. Boiling water added directly to the powder can destroy heat-sensitive nutrients.
Water goes in first
Measure the correct amount of water into the bottle before adding powder. Adding powder first makes it harder to hit the right ratio and increases the chance of clumping.
Shake until fully dissolved
Cap the bottle and shake well. Before feeding, place a few drops on the inside of your wrist to confirm the temperature is comfortable.
Prepare only what is needed
Formula should be fed within one hour of preparation. Don’t save formula left in the bottle after a feed. Bacteria multiply quickly once a baby has fed from it; these microbes may survive even when refrigerated or reheated.

After opening, keep the tin sealed and stored in a cool, dry place. Use the contents within three weeks. Refrigerating the powder is not necessary and can introduce moisture.
